County encourages Hatch to prepare for potential evacuations
Due to forecasted worsening weather conditions Doña Ana County is asking people in the Hatch area to be ready for evacuations. Doña Ana County has placed Hatch in READY mode, under the "Ready, Set, Go" Evacuation plan.
The "Ready, Set, Go" approach is a three-stage system designed to help residents prepare medications and important documents, and be ready to evacuate if conditions worsen.
Ready: Residents should prepare now. Make a plan, gather essential supplies, prepare medications and important documents and be ready to evacuate if conditions worsen.
Set: Residents should be prepared to leave immediately. Evacuation conditions may be developing and residents should monitor official information closely and be ready to go.
Go: Residents should evacuate immediately using designated or recommended evacuation routes.
At this time, Hatch is in the READY stage. Residents should use this time to prepare before conditions potentially worsen.
Residents are encouraged to:

Identify where you will go if an evacuation becomes necessary.

Keep your vehicle fueled and ready to leave.

The READY to SET to GO can happen quickly depending on weather and emergency conditions.
Rincon, Garfield and Salem are in the GO phase of this evacuation system and are encouraged to use Interstate-25 as their route of evacuation.
